I'm Hungry!!!

Enough trash talk...I'm hungry! :) I have the late afternoon munchies and sometimes a cup of tea has really helped me through that time. Today, I want more than tea! What other suggestions does everyone have to get through these cravings? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

  1. Eating food is for wimps! Winners will go 10 weeks on water and gravel. ;-) jk

    Handful of unsalted mixed nuts, hard-boiled eggs/devilled eggs, sugar-free jello, crystal lite/water. Seems to push me through the mid morning/mid-afternoon munchies.

    but I did give in to the sugar-free popcicles. That may have been a mistake. We'll see on Monday :)

  3. Also Angela, if you like hummus, which I love, eat about 1/4 c. (only 2 points on W.W.) with celery or carrots or peppers or some kind of vegie that takes a while to chew, that helps a LOT! Or, pop a little popcorn in a little bit of Olive Oil. Three cups of that is really low in fat and calories and also is filling enough to get you to the next meal. And like I said, make that soup if you like vegie soup, you can eat unlimited of that stuff and that totally helps. I'll have to make another batch in a couple of days but it's nice having that on hand because when you start getting hungry it takes just a couple of minutes to nuke a cup or bowl of it. And for sweet cravings, get some Skinny Cows, those are good and also very low in points.

  4. One more thing I was going to mention Angela, did you see that recipe for muffins that Sara has posted on her blog that KayLynn had found? Well I just made a double batch of those on Tuesday so Wayne would have something to munch on instead, hopefully, of the maple bars they always have at work that he loves. I made mine with mostly w.w. flour (2 c. wheat, 1 of white) and they are DELICIOUS and filling. One of those would definitely tide you over and very nutritional and the only fat in them is from the flax but that is the good fat. They are so good and really moist and one of those definitely gets me by. Being hungry is not good in a diet as it can sabotage you so hopefully some of these suggestions will help you. Jason's ideas are all good ones.
