Growing by the day!

We are up to 17 now so we have LOTS of competitors. My best friend (Connie) from H.S. told her sister Lea about our competition and she wants in too, as does Sara's friend Melissa. WOW! Here I thought our group may be small this year and now it's one of our biggest I think. This will really bring out our competitive nature now won't it. First place is now up to $136.00!!!!

    Hi there,

    I stumbled upon your blog and what a great idea "a competition". I am doing something similar (the losing weight part). I started a blog this year and I have to list everything I eat and publish my weight and measurements weekly. I lost 3.5kg in my first week, which is a real motivator.

    I will be sure to check in from time to time to see how you are all going.

    Good luck with your loss too Alex. This is our third annual contest and it is a great motivator to get all that holiday weight off. Where are you from?

    I am from Newcastle, Australia, it's about 2 hours north of Sydney. I'm not sure if it made it on news where you are? But it's the place where the big ocean tanka (The Pasha Bulka) got washed up onto the beach. Where are you guy's from?

    I am actually from Washington State in a town called Yakima. If you're familiar with the U.S. we are a little over 2 hours southeast of Seattle. Our group for the competition is scattered all over. We have a few in Seattle, a few in Spokane, a couple in the Tri-Cities, one of two in Colfax (all of these are towns in Washington State) and then my sister-in-law Linda, is in Montana. We started this friendly competition 3 years ago to get motivated to get rid of all the weight we have gained throughout the year. It actually makes losing weight ALMOST fun.

    By the way, I didn't hear about the "Pasha Bulka" but will look it up now, that sounds interesting.

    Hi Jules, I haven't been to Seattle but my Husband has. I have done the East Coast from Vermont down to Miami then across the south then out of LA, we were there for 3 months, loved it.

    I know what you mean about being fun, who would ever have thought? At present I have lost 4.5kg which is 9.9 pounds, so I am pretty happy with that.
