reporting your results

Make sure you are reporting your TOTAL percentage lost each week. (The base number will always stay the same) NOT the percentage per week. Actually, I guess you can this week since there are prizes for percentage lost in this week.

I know my uncle John reported 0% last week, but should have reported 'no change' instead which would have left him at 1.3% lost.

I'm only missing results from Brenda. I think that 24 is finally going to be our official number of participants. I will recalculate all the prize totals for the last time.

NOTE: I was teased because I said that the weekly prizes would be random, yet I'd let you know in advance. What can I say, I've never fired on all cylinders.

HOWEVER, THIS IS THE WEEK!!! Not only do you want to keep losing for your total competition loss but this week the person who loses the greatest percentage just this week will get a $10 gift card to Starbucks. Remember, this is not necessarily who is in first at results time, it's the person who has the greatest percentage loss in one week. So, go get them tiger!

I didn't get results from anyone from Matt's work, Diana, Linda, or Todd. Give it up guys! I will update this list if I get new results early today but after that you'll have to wait until next week. We also lost two more participants, Hannah and Kirsten. Good luck on your solo journey my dears.

Which brings me to my next point. I am officially closing the contest. If you're in you're in and if you're not you're not. Sorry, but it's becoming too hard to keep track of participants and money.

Next point. Ante up folks!! You know who you are. And yes, thank you to the many who have given me money or are bringing it this weekend for the awesome Jones painting party. Funny, that makes it sound like you are paying to paint...

It's the first Monday!!

Today is official weigh in day for week one of our competition. Don't forget to send me your results sometime today and I'll post a list on the blog tomorrow. I have already seen a few and all I can say is GOOD STINKING JOB.

More people, more dinero

My brother-in-law Matt has worked in sales. He had convinced six of his co-workers to join our competition which means he is good at his job and deserves a raise. They are Daniel, Brenda, Danny, Matt, Sandy, and Alex. I don't have any last names so for now the co-worker Matt and Alex, who have the same name as other competitors, will be referred to as Matt Z. and Alex Z. Boys, if you don't like that, email me your last names!

This also adds $120 to our pot. Last year we had a random prize for a weekly weight loss winner and I thought it would be fun to add that. So, $20 will go to two weekly $10 prizes that will happen at random during the competition. I'll let you know in advance when we'll do those.

That leaves $100. By executive order the $$$ totals will now be as follows:

1st-$340

2nd-$130

3rd-$50

4th-$20

Two random weekly prizes-$20

This is just me and my noble team of advisors' idea so if anyone has grievances let me know. It was suggested that with such a large group it would be nice to include money back for a fourth place and I agreed.

Whew, this year is kicking last year's tail, we have doubled our number of participants! I hope you're all sweating it out this week!

Motivation

I thought since my husband so lovingly wrote a blog last year towards the end of the competition with a great song, (The Final Count Down) I would contribute. Here is a song that motivates me every time I hear it! (Hint, hint, awsome work out song.)

A final round of info

Alright, I'm almost done talking about this competition and ready to let people get busy losing weight. Just a few more pieces of information to pass along.

1. By a narrow margin, Mondays will be the official weigh in date. Every Monday, weigh yourself and calculate the total percentage lost. Email me the percentage and Tuesday morning I will post the results.

2. Everyone seems to agree that second and third place should get more money. We now have 22 official participants. (We lost Brittany but added a friend of ours, Jason Pegg, and a friend of my mom's, Kirsten Gayte.) Twenty-two people is $440!!! After some consultation with trusted advisors we are thinking $300 for 1st, $100 for 2nd, and $40 for third. Does that seem okay with everyone?

3. I forgot to say before that everyone needs to use the same scale for their official weekly weigh in. You know, since my OB office's scale always seems to be 5 pounds heavier than the one I have at home.

LET'S DO THIS!

We just got back from shopping for our 'diet food'. Fun times with no sugar (trying south beach diet again for a little while)... argh. and I bought a Costco size bag of lucky charms last week. Silly daddy.

I weighed myself this morning after eating almost an entire large pizza from Papa Murphy's yesterday. ouch. but...now that is extra weight I can chart up to the total weight loss in 10 weeks! I may not have as much to lose, but I'm not gonna give up the crown without a fight!

Sooo... I worked out today for the first time in like a couple months-ish. Wen't out and ran for half an hour... dropped 3 lbs. Ahh it's great to be male. :)

More people!

Since last night we have three more participants! They include John Ansontingue (Helena Reynolds brother), Tammy Madsen (my aunt and my mom's sister), and Anna Fazarri (Alex Fazarri's wife). I will be sending out an invite to them so they can become blog authors as well.

Our total number of people is now up to 21! I thought 20 was a good number to reach and we are there! Thanks for spreading the word.

After looking at the feedback about weigh ins and monetary prizes, I will post the collective decision on the blog this evening.
